Ginger-Lemon Hot Tea

Now that semi-cool weather is upon us, I automatically begin thinking about hot drinks....hot chocolate, hot tea, and even just hot water with lemon twists.

Hands warming around a mug full of steaming goodness. Inhaling the sweet or tart aroma. Tastes like fall to me!

To begin our fall drinks, this tea recipe is a generic but winner recipe from AllRecipes.com.

You can buy ginger root at any local grocery store. At Kroger, it is in the vegetable/fruit section, ask your friendly grocery helper for the exact spot!

Ingredients:
4 cups water
2-inch piece of fresh ginger root
1 teaspoon honey
several lemon slices

Directions:
Peel the ginger root and slice it into thin slices.

Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Once it is boiling, add the ginger. Cover it and reduce to a simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Strain the tea. Add honey and lemon to taste.

Enjoy the beginning of fall!
